Charles Mingus が 1960年に Mercury へ吹き込んだ “Pre-Bird”。10人のコンボから 22人編成まで曲ごとに姿を変えるこの盤の 1999年 CD には、スタジオの会話とテープの継ぎ目という、普通は聞こえず見えないはずのものが残されていた。
