誰にでも、自分にとって特別な意味を持つアルバムというのがあるでしょう。例えば、個人的な想い出とリンクしているアルバムだったり、音楽にのめり込むきっかけを与えてくれたアルバムだったり。そんな中に「自分の生まれた年月日に録音されたアルバム」というのもあったりします。

Everybody may have his/her special album(s) of his/her own - for example, an album which closely link to his/her personal events and memories, an album which gave him/her a huge impact to let him/her get involved into music. And there are some more - such as “an album which was recorded on the same day in the same year when I was born”.

    

今日は仕事で恵比寿へ。帰りに新宿で途中下車。 準備万端のプレーヤー のために、SP 用カートリッジを買って帰る。結局安い AT-MONO3/SP にした。

Rhino Handmade, a well known label for so many invaluable limited-edition CD issues which have been satisfying the hardcore collectors' thirsts, is of course a great project (starting from 1999) by that Rhino Records. As for me, there were so many titles which I wished to obtain in vain. This is the latest release from Rhino Handmade label I could buy the other day.

私が 2003年9月 より愛用している現在のターンテーブル J.A. Michell Gyrodec Mk. III (with plinth-based Papst AC motor driven by GyroPower QC)。このターンテーブル用の 78rpm プーリーがかつて存在していたという噂を耳にし、英国 J.A. Michell 本社に問い合わせをしましたが、「倉庫に残ってるかもしれん。気長に待っとくれ」という返事を最後に数ヶ月音沙汰なし。ダメもとでアメリカのショップに問い合わせをしたら、在庫ありとのことで早速注文。ものはついでと、予備のゴムベルトも同時発注。で、本日届きました。50Hz 用 33/45/78 回転用プーリーとゴムベルト。

写真の銀色のプーリーがそれ。3つ溝が切られていて、上から 33 1/3 回転、45回転、78回転用となっています。左にぽつんと置いてある黒い方は、直前まで使っていたプーリー。こちらは 2ベルト駆動対応版 (Mk.II あたりまでは純正で 2ベルト駆動だった名残りでしょうか) で、上から 45回転、33 1/3回転、33 1/3 回転、45回転と溝が切られています。

あとはカートリッジさえ買えば、うちでもめでたく SP 盤が再生可能になります。ここはいっちょ Ortofon CG65Di を、と言いたいところですが、クルマのメンテにお金がかかることを鑑み Audio Technica AT-MONO3/SP あたりが無難か。

つい先日、LP ラック を買い足しました。その際、段ボール箱に入れて保管していたレコードを整理しましたが、ここ数年手にとっていなかった盤を手にとっては、その盤にまつわる個人的な想い出が次々と脳裏をかけめぐり、整理は滞りがちになってしまいました。これもそんな一枚。記憶が正しければ、1994年の夏に大阪日本橋の某中古レコード屋で購入したものです。

The other day I bought yet another LP stocker. After the built of the stocker was complete, I started to readjust my LP collection (stocked in the cardboard boxes) to re-stock in this new stocker. During the procedure, I took every LP in my hand, thinking of very personnal memory with the record from one after another, which prevented me from very smooth task to store the records. This LP is one of them - as far as I remember, I bought this album in the summer of 1994 at a certain shop in Nipponbashi, Osaka.
