Upgrade and Afterlife / Gastr del Sol
I don’t remember exactly when I got to know of (and when I got interested in) these Gastr del Sol albums – maybe somewhere on the web, in the early 2000s? Anyway just after I gave it a listen to the first few minutes of the CD album “Upgrade & Afterlife ”, I soon was fascinated with the sound – that could be described as the beauty of dissonance or reposeful noise. ガスター・デル・ソル (Gastr del Sol) のアルバム、いつその存在に初めて気付いたのか、いつ興味を持ち出したのか、どういうわけか正確に覚えていません。多分2000年代の始め頃、web かどこかで知ったのでしょうか。ともあれ CD を入手、「Upgrade & Afterlife 」の最初の数分を聴いただけで、あっという間にその音の虜になってしまいました。「美しい不協和音」というべきか、「心地よいノイズ」というべきか。緊張感を伴って仔細まで聴き入ってしまうのに、爽やかさと安堵感も伴うという、不思議な音源。 Upgrade & Afterlife / Gastr del Sol (Drag City DC090) Amazon.co.jp で買う：CD / LP Buy this at Amazon.com: CD / Vinyl

My first vinyl spin in 2012
2012年1月4日、一足先にひとりで帰省先から戻った私の家に、 いつもテニスをご一緒させて頂いているオーディオ好きの Ｉさん が遊びに来て下さいました。昨年、いちど遊びに来て下さって以来、2回目となります。
Pascal Pinon (MORR MM 101 LP)
娘が生まれた直後から、いろんな音楽を聴かせてきました（笑）。 フランク・ザッパ（主に Burnt Weeny Sandwich とか Weasels Ripped My Flesh とか Yellow Shark 辺り）、 セロニアス・モンク（主に Prestigeレーベル時代 のをSPとかLPとかで）、 デューク・エリントン （主に1920年代〜1930年代頃のホットな奴をSPとかCDとかで）、 ジェームス・ブラウン （驚くことに尊師JBの音源はどれをかけてもお気に入りのようです）、 ジョン・ゾーン （特にお気に入りは 「The Circle Maker: Zevulun」 の模様） その他いろいろ。 要は私が普段聴いている音楽ということですが。もちろん 子供向け音楽 もかけたりしますし、娘なりのお気に入りはいろいろあるようですが、 「スナッキーで踊ろう」にハマりまくって踊りながら全コーラス歌ったり、最近では「Heroes And Villains」のいろんなパートをつぎつぎ鼻歌で歌っていたり（笑）と、みているだけでかなり面白いです。 この投稿をInstagramで見る Kohji Matsubayashi(@kohji405mi16)がシェアした投稿 エレクトロニカ風ポップもかなりお気に入りの様子。Guther なども自作のダンスを踊りながらエセ英語で歌詞をつけるありさまです。今年に入ってからは、私の長年のお気に入りレーベルのひとつである MORR からの作品、Pascal Pinon にハマってくれたようで、これをかけていると本人も相当心地よさそうにしています。ある意味で、子供向け音楽と言えるかもしれません。

Cross Patch c/w Cabin In The Sky / Fats Waller
ファッツ・ウォーラー (Fats Waller) の 1936年「Cross Patch」、そのあまりの美しくメランコリックかつ可愛らしい演奏に魅了されました。B面の「Cabin In The Sky」は、後年 Thelonious Monk が「Pannonica」で聞かせたセレステによる演奏のよう。
Good Vibrations (78 rpm) / The Beach Boys
世界で最も有名な未完のアルバム、といってよいであろう、ビーチ・ボーイズ (The Beach Boys) の「SMiLE」関連の音源は、過去に何度となくリリースが噂されてきました。古くは1973年にリリースしようとしていたことが明らかになっていますし、1988年にもボックス化される話がありました。 Maybe the most famous “unreleased” album ever – “SMiLE” by The Beach Boys. There has been so many rumors and announcements in the past about releasing the SMiLE era outtakes in one package. The oldest attempt to finish the Smile album known so far was in 1973. Boogie 4 Stu: A Tribute To Ian Stewart / Ben Waters
個人的には、ストーンズ全メンバーが勢揃いしたこと自体は、あまり注目点ではなかったりします。ベン・ウォーターズ (Ben Waters) が、イアン・スチュアート (Ian Stewart) ゆかりのブギウギ、R&B の名曲をどう料理してくれるのか、その点がはるかに興味をひかれ、ボーナストラック入りで限定リリースされた 2枚組LP を購入しました。 In my humble opinion, the most interesting part of this album is NOT the fact that all members of The Rolling Stones plays on this album, but how the leader Ben Waters interprets good old Boogie Woogie / R&B tunes connected to the late Ian Stewart… I bought the limited 2LP edition of the album (with bonus tracks).
