個人的には、ストーンズ全メンバーが勢揃いしたこと自体は、あまり注目点ではなかったりします。ベン・ウォーターズ (Ben Waters) が、イアン・スチュアート (Ian Stewart) ゆかりのブギウギ、R&B の名曲をどう料理してくれるのか、その点がはるかに興味をひかれ、ボーナストラック入りで限定リリースされた 2枚組LP を購入しました。 In my humble opinion, the most interesting part of this album is NOT the fact that all members of The Rolling Stones plays on this album, but how the leader Ben Waters interprets good old Boogie Woogie / R&B tunes connected to the late Ian Stewart… I bought the limited 2LP edition of the album (with bonus tracks). 土曜日、奇跡的に自宅で一人の時間が少し生じたので、ハカイダーの心配をすることなく (笑) SP 盤を久し振りに聴くことが出来ました。きもちえがったー。 Saturday – I could have a precious time to be alone at home – without ‘the destroyer’ – my two-years-old daughter – so I could enjoy listening to several 78rpm records this afternoon. It was just fun indeed!
R.I.P. Wilma Cozart Fine
マーキュリーレーベル黄金期、夫のボブ・ファイン氏と共に、数え切れない程の歴史的名録音に携わった伝説的エンジニア・プロデューサ、ウィルマ・コザート・ファイン さんが、2009年9月21日に82歳で永眠されたそうです。 A legendary recording engineer and a producer, Ms. Wilma Cozart Fine (who, together with her husband Mr. Bob Fine, did numerous recording sessions on Mercury label most of which later became true classics) passed away at age 82 on September 21, 2009. 文字通り、心より冥福をお祈り致します。。。 I sincerely pray her soul may rest in piece . . . 1945年に設立されたマーキュリー (Mercury) レーベルの最初のリリースは Four Jumps of Jive によるものでしたが、このバンドのリーダーは、あのウィリー・ディクソン (Willie Dixon) でした。

Max Roach a la carte
Last night I picked up two LP albums by Max Roach and put ’em on my turntable to pray R.I.P. Both albums recorded in the 1970s, both released only in Japan, both not so popular as Roach’s other masterpieces, and both not his best albums ever. But they have given me very interesting insights of the percussion artistry of how Max Roach can “sing” with the drums.
