「Music To (…) By」、つまり「〜をしている時にかかっている音楽」「〜してる時に聴くと良い音楽」「これさえあれば〜できる音楽」と銘打たれたアルバム（や曲）が、どうしてこんなに多いんだろう、と素朴な疑問を抱いたので、そんなアルバムや曲を次々探してみることにしました。

Flat Foot Floogie (with a Floy-Floy)
My six-years-old daughter, whose best favourite tune so far is “That’s A Plenty”, recently found another favourite tune of her own – it’s “Flat Foot Floogie” – maybe I’m not a good daddy to her… 「That’s A Plenty」に続き、よりによって娘の愛聴曲となってしまったのが「Flat Foot Floogie」。ここ数日は常に鼻歌で歌っている始末です。。。きっと私は悪い親なんでしょう（笑）
Jazz Tunes entitled “Hiroshima” and “Nagasaki”
Albert Ammons による「Nagasaki」(1936) と「Hiroshima」（1947) という名曲。前者は1928年作、後者はその改題バージョンです。いずれも名曲名演なのですが、「長崎」「広島」というタイトルや、その経緯を知れば知るほど、毎年8月になると思い出してしまいます。
