オリジナル LP はマイナーレーベルから出たレア盤（Lulu 6072-25）らしいのですが、2012年にCD化されたので、いまでは比較的気軽に聴くことができます。 ファンク系あり、モロに1970年代マーヴィン・ゲイ風味あり、スウィート系あり。バラエティ豊かな楽曲群。 それ以上に、この時代にしては珍しく、調律の合っていないピアノ。ゆらぎまくりでグルーヴ感を台無しにするドラムス。 どこまでもB級で、どこまでも憎めないこの作品。21世紀のいま聴くと逆に新鮮なのが面白いです。

さまざまな愛聴曲（？）溺愛曲（？）を持つ、7歳の娘が、最近別次元で完全に虜になっている音楽があります。 サイモンガー・モバイルです。マジで毎日鼻歌うたってます（笑）ソウル好き、ファンク好きはもちろんのこと、あらゆる音楽ファンにおすすめです。

ジム・ホール (Jim Hall) ファンの間では以前から話題になっていた、1990年7月2日、モントリオールジャズフェスでのライブ録音、やっと公開されました。リリースを前提とした録音ではなかったようですが、これからも大事に聴いていきたいと思います。

Flat Foot Floogie (with a Floy-Floy)
My six-years-old daughter, whose best favourite tune so far is “That’s A Plenty”, recently found another favourite tune of her own – it’s “Flat Foot Floogie” – maybe I’m not a good daddy to her… 「That’s A Plenty」に続き、よりによって娘の愛聴曲となってしまったのが「Flat Foot Floogie」。ここ数日は常に鼻歌で歌っている始末です。。。きっと私は悪い親なんでしょう（笑）
Jazz Tunes entitled “Hiroshima” and “Nagasaki”
Albert Ammons による「Nagasaki」(1936) と「Hiroshima」（1947) という名曲。前者は1928年作、後者はその改題バージョンです。いずれも名曲名演なのですが、「長崎」「広島」というタイトルや、その経緯を知れば知るほど、毎年8月になると思い出してしまいます。
