Last night I picked up two LP albums by Max Roach and put ’em on my turntable to pray R.I.P. Both albums recorded in the 1970s, both released only in Japan, both not so popular as Roach’s other masterpieces, and both not his best albums ever. But they have given me very interesting insights of the percussion artistry of how Max Roach can “sing” with the drums.

Anita O’Day in her early years

3月14日付で初稿を公開した 「Capitol Label Variations (in its early era)」。 4月14日に更新状況を 「Capitol Label Variation being updated」 としてお知らせしました。 その後も調査収集を続け、ついに今朝到着したマルーン色レーベル (Long Playing タイプ)、10インチの L- プリフィクスをもって、 buzzy-bee さんのサイトに掲載されているレインボー第3期より前のバリエーションが全部揃いました。ぱちぱち。 まだ一部疑問が残る箇所がありますが、とりあえずこれをもって完成としておきます。 あ、けど「Kenton Jazz Presents」を別レーベルとして扱ったからには、「Classics In Jazz」シリーズも別レーベルとしておいた方がよかったかも . . . うーむ、また気がむいたら更新しておきます (笑)…
