The Great “Bop-Gun Club” with Harry Weinger in Tokyo

2017年5月16日の夜、ハリー・ワインガー (Harry Weinger) さんとついにお会いすることができました。 It was a cloudy Tuesday night, May 16, 2017, when I finally had the great privilege of meeting Mr. Harry Weinger for the first time in person. ハリーさんは現在、米ユニバーサルミュージックエンタープライズのA&R副代表として活躍するほか、ニューヨーク大学のクライヴ・デイビス・レコード音楽学部で非常勤講師も勤めています。最も有名なのは、「Star Time」ボックスセット（1991年）などでの、2度のグラミー賞の受賞でしょう。 He is a Vice President of Product Development/A&R for Universal Music Enterprises, as well as an adjunct instructor at the NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music. He is best known as a two-time Grammy winner, including the famous “Star Time” box set (1991).

Solved! The Mystery of The Phantom Record

おお、面白い！ Solved! The Mystery of The Phantom Record For three weeks in the Summer of 1979, a song called ‘Ready N Steady’ by a band named D.A. charted on the Billboard charts. It never peaked higher than #102. Then, it vanished. Never to heard from again. That’s not entirely unusual, of course. In the music industry, artists come and go. However, something made this particular song unique: No one could find a copy of it. No one. It was as if the song had never actually existed. 1979年夏の Billboard チャート102位まで上がったのに、いまだにレコードが1枚も見つからない、謎のミュージシャンによる謎の楽曲の正体が、ついに解明された、と。 上記リンク先で、その曲の正体が明かされています。へぇ〜。

James Brown Live in Virginia 1970

ジェームス・ブラウン (James Brown) のものすごい音源が、公開されています。 James Brown‘s amazing recording is available here.   1970年（月日不詳？）、バージニアでのライブ音源です。音質はかなり悪いですが、内容の濃さと興味深さがそれを補って余りあります。 According to the video description, it is from a live concert in Virginia, 1970. Although its sound quality is far from good, intensity and excitement of the performance itself is like “out of this world”.
